LECTURES AND TRUNK SHOWS

Is Your Quilting Voice a Solo, a Duet, or the Morman Tabernacle Choir?    (yes, there will be a quiz)
Every time one of my quilts wins a prize, I am astonished - because I never PLANNED to be one of those "national award-winning quilters" !  It has been a fabulous experience.   Every quilter makes a journey throughout their quilting life -  where did yours start ?    What Stamps Are in Your Quilting Passport?  And Where will you go next?  Using my own journey, and search for my quilting voice, as an example, we will travel together, charting our progress as we go !  Featuring 15 -20 quilts, including lots of  prizewinners, some 'in progress',  and one or two from the Bone Pile !

"  From Grandma's Linen Basket"
As long as I can remember, I have had a box or a drawer of linens - doilies, tablecloths, hankies - saved for "someday", and never used.  Then I discovered quilting using vintage linens - now even a lowly napkin may find itself on the wall, all 'quilted up'.  These wonderful pieces of fiber art can have a new beginning in a wall quilt !  Featuring a dozen vintage linen and lace quilts, many having received national prizes.

Classes and Workshops:

"Introduction to linen quilting"
Bring a small piece - hankie, doily, or placemat - and we will make something fabulous out of it !  So much fun!!.  Use your walking foot, or work in free-motion!  A great quilting skill-building class. Participants can quilt using either walking foot or free-motion quilting.

"Introduction to Reverse Trapunto "
In this fabulous technique, the batting is on TOP of the quilt, making a stunning design element.  This fabulous technique is amazingly easy, and the designs can be complex or simple, elegant or humorous, artistic or childlike - lots of fun !!!!

"Machine Quilting on the Grid"
Do you wonder how quilters make those wonderful background patterns that make their quilts so fabulous?  They use a grid - a simple set of lines and boxes that form the skeleton for endless patterns.  They are all beautiful - and come in difficulty ranges from simple to complex !  Confident beginner level.

"A Feather in Every Space"
Feathers fit everywhere !  In circles, triangles, borders... learn to free-motion heirloom feathers in a variety of spaces on your quilt top.  (intermediate level)
