Annabelle's Exciting Life

Oh, Miss Annabelle - what an exciting life you are leading.

On Sunday morning, August 13, I opened my email box to find many notes of Congratulations - - for what?  I wondered....  what on earth was going on ???

I had no idea, but kept reading my email.... and then opened The Quilt Show Newsletter...  and OMG - there was MY FACE - - and ANNABELLE.....

These photos were taken at the Paducah Quilt Show - and the lovely people at The Quilt Show featured MY ANNABELLE in their Newsletter...... oh I had some heart palpitations!

fast forward to September 1:

As I write this, my quilt "Annabelle's Wedding Feast"  has been sent to the Houston Quilt Festival for hanging in the show......

She was real excited about that........

Since then, the Houston Convention Center has become an emergency home for 10,000 people, none of whom were the least bit cognizant that MY fabulous quilt, along with many many others, was safely locked away in the offices upstairs in that building.

But Annabelle knew - she felt the pain, the sorrow, the sadness.

And even when she comes home in November, she will remember.

Some of us sent cash, some will send quilts.  Some - MANY - will GO to Houston, and stay in hotels, and eat in restaurants, and help rebuild the economy of the city, and revive a thriving city.

What we do as quilters is important - not only to add beauty, or keep people warm - it supports economies, keeps hotels and restaurants in business, and gives people jobs.

WAY TO GO, ANNABELLE.
